How to read the calculator

Julian dates count days from noon on 1 January 4713 BCE. Integers mean noon; midnight has a .5 fraction. Both dates use the same time zone; no zone conversion is applied.

The calendar switches from Julian 4 October to Gregorian 15 October 1582. Earlier dates use the proleptic Julian calendar. Year 0 means 1 BCE; year −1 means 2 BCE. Overflow dates normalize, so 31 February 2019 becomes 3 March; entering 5–14 October 1582 moves ten days forward.

Day names change at midnight. Cycle position = 1 + mod(day number − 11, 60); position 1 is Karp–Jai. Reverse conversion rounds time to the nearest second.
